YAA Spotlight Show featuring Kim Cuc Tran and Jeff Bertuleit
There will be a two week spotlight show at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery in Nye Beach featuring the photography of Kim Cuc Tran and the art of Jeff Bertuleit. The show will run from June 23, 2012 through July 6th, 2012 and the gallery is open from 10 am to 5 pm 7 days a week.
Kim was born and raised in Vietnam and escaped the communists by boat to Malaysia in 1980. She immigrated to the US in 1981. Kim settled in Newport, Oregon in May of 2010. Kim loved photography and took classes with the Vietnamese Artistic Photographic Association in Orange County, California in 1993. She attended classes, seminars and workshops in Covina, California as well. Kim began her photography with a 35 mm camera and converted to digital in 2004. She has been doing a variety of photography, but more focus in abstract, patterns, textures in nature and landscape. She believes in taking the time to compose for the right shots, and uses Photoshop to enhance the photo as needed. Her guideline to photography is “Simplify, simplify, simplify”.
Kim Cuc Tran has received awards in photography competitions at Vietnamese Artistic Photographic Association, Tri-Community Photo Center, Photographic Society of America, Oregon State Fair Salon of Photography, and Columbia Council of Camera Clubs. She is a current member of Yaquina Art Association Photographers, After Light Photo Club, and Vietnamese Artistic Photography Association. Worked as a chemical process engineer for more than 20 years. Her other interests include traveling, gardening, and cooking.
Jeff Bertuleit enjoys both watercolor and oil paining. He has been painting for the past 20 years and has enjoyed combining travels to Europe and Hawaii with his art. He also enjoys paining at scenic locations painting ocean scenes plein air. Bertuleit is a member of the Yaquina Art Association and has served as president of the group in the past.
