“Spotlight on Pastel Paintings”

Gallery Hours – 11am – 4pm daily.

Come see a colorful and exciting show of pastel paintings by local Pastel students. The students have different art backgrounds and their own unique styles. Exhibitors include Alma Leon, Mike Beyer, Luella Hartwell, Solveig Leslie, Helen Wellman, Sally Ann Morris, and more. The Pastel Teacher, Charlotte Carter will also be exhibiting. She is an active local artist and member of the Yaquina Art Association.

The Pastel Class meets every Thursday, 10am – 12pm in the large 2nd floor studio room which has plenty of workspace and a fabulous ocean view. Classes are ongoing, informal, and free of cost. Drop-Ins are welcome. There are no limits for age or experience. Students bring their own art supplies. Come experiment and have fun!

The Yaquina Art Association and the Visual Art Center volunteer their time and facilities to provide this Pastel Class and other interesting art classes all year long. Their combined goal is to promote and encourage the arts within the Newport community.

The Visual Arts Center works in collaboration with the Yaquina Art Association to offering classes and exhibits for the community, and promoting art to the local public schools when ever possible.

Yaquina Art Association is a non-profit art cooperative, which serves local artists throughout Lincoln County. It provides art education for all ages.
