She loves the nautical gestures that the beaches have to offer, the sound of the waves and the lush green habitat of the coastal mountains. Her medium of choice is watercolor and she prefers handmade paper or Masa paper to paint on. You will find her style a bit unique and most of her Originals are always framed in a nautical way. She had lived in Idaho recently and it has lent to also her wild life Journey of painting. She has officially been painting for nearly 1 year and has been very passionate in her art. Mostly self taught but in her younger years she attended the College of the Siskiyous in Weed, California in an attempt to major in art. Her art can be seen at Windermere Realty Gallery in Seal Rock, at the Purple Starfish in Depoe Bay, the Yaquina Art Association Gallery in Nye Beach. Pastel/Oil Class
The Pastel/Oil class of the Yaquina Art Association meets on Tuesday mornings from 9-11 a.m. in the Visual Art Center upstairs classroom. Patti Johnson is the facilitator of the class. Each member can work on their own project. Patti will help new members learn to paint. She enjoys teaching and encourages new members to come and learn. The class is fairly small, around 8 people so there is room for more. Everyone brings their supplies and the class is free. Others in the class enjoy helping new members as well. A sampling from many of the class members will be available for viewing during this two week spotlight.
