Yaquina Art Gallery spotlights art work of Charlotte Carter & Diane Pinizzotto from August 5th – August 18th
Charlotte Carter’s and Diane Pinizzotto’s paintings will be featured in a two week show at Yaquina Art Association Gallery from August 5 to August 18.
Charlotte Carter’s paintings are abstractions of the atmospheric ever-changing moods of nature, with light and shadows reflecting off surfaces. She exaggerated colors to express moods. Her choice of media was pastel and watercolor.
Charlotte was an artist most of her life. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Art (with a major in drawing and painting, a minor in ceramics and sculpture).
For many years she worked as a technical illustrator, graphic artist and designer. She continued to paint in her spare time, and was an active member of the Potters’ Guild of Ann Arbor, Michigan. While raising 2 children as a single mother, she taught ceramics classes for the Adult Education Division of Ann Arbor Public Schools in the evenings.
She has lived and exhibited her artwork in many places around the USA but chose to retire in the beautiful coastal town of Newport, OR. She painted, and taught an ongoing Pastel Class for Yaquina Art Association, of which she was a member. We are blessed to have some of her original works to share with the world. The proceeds will go to our free classes and future plans for an art education center.
Diane Pinizzotto’s paintings are often playful and filled with color. She has a strong beach and sea connection which is often evident in her work. Pinizzotto grew up with frequent trips to the southern California beaches where her social life was centered and continues as she divides her time between warm California sunshine and the seashore in Waldport.
She studied art and started painting with oils early in her life then stepped away to raise her children. Once again, Pinizzotto has picked up her brushes to create what comes to her imagination. Often it reflects sea and water creatures in whimsical way.
Diane is an active member of the art association for several years.
