Yaquina Art Gallery Spotlight Pedestal Show featuring the artwork of A.T. Ronan – October 23rd to November 8th
In a Spotlight Pedestal Show from October 23rd to November 8th, the Yaquina Art Association will be featuring the artwork of A.T. Ronan. The Yaquina Art Association Gallery is located in Nye Beach at 789 NW Beach Drive. Hours of operation are 11 am to 4 pm on weekends, other days open may vary.
A.T. Ronan’s 2020 mixed media show is a tribute to the Roaring ‘20’s. The show features twenty visually appealing assemblage pieces and glass painted vases and art objects.
Ronan said, “I wanted to highlight the whimsy and grand architectural style and elaborate decorations of the Art Deco period. Some of the pieces use the decoupage method to realistically display the fashions of the era; such as the hat box. I also used peacock feathers and bright paints with lots of glitzy ornamentations. I hope people who view my art will enjoy it as much as I did when creating the show.”
From elegantly painted vases to one featuring fused glass hearts; to a pressed flower in glass and a glass painted shoe, the show is sure to bring a smile and some much needed relief from the troubled times of 2020. Ronan’s show also includes agate and jasper pendants and beaded bracelets.
The Ronan family, which includes A.T.’s husband Ed and feline friends, moved to Newport in 1990. She retired from Oregon Coast Community College in 2013 and now enjoys the freedom to continually challenge herself to explore new forms of creativity.
