Yaquina Art Gallery Pedestal Spotlight Show featuring the glass work of Mary Young – August 24th to September 6th
In a two week Pedestal Spotlight Show from August 24th to September 6th, the Yaquina Art Association will be featuring the glass work of Mary Young. The Yaquina Art Association Gallery is located in Nye Beach at 789 NW Beach Drive. Hours of operation are 11 am to 5 pm every day until September 2nd. After Labor Day, hours are 11 am to 4 pm.
Mary Young has been creating fused glass art for twelve years. The constant surprises, playing with color, and making happy things are the best part of glass projects. The interest in glass started with her Father, who bought a kiln to experiment with years ago. It just took off from there: exploring, trying new techniques, and just playing around.
Mary has lived in Newport for thirteen years. She grew up in Seattle, WA and lived in Portland, OR before moving to the beautiful Oregon Coast. She has been a member of the Yaquina Art Association since 2007.
Under the name Whimsy Art Glass, Mary sells her glass work at the Newport Farmer’s Market, and can also be found in the Itinerant Artist’s Marketplace at the Lincoln City Outlets.
