Yaquina Art Association Spotlight Shows featuring JerryLynn Woolley, Ann Nicholson, and Josephine Allen–August 26th to September 8th
In a two week Spotlight Show from August 26th to September 8th, the Yaquina Art Association will be featuring photographer JerriLynn Woolley, watercolor artist Ann Nicholson, and acrylic painter Josephine Allen. The Yaquina Art Center is located in Nye Beach at 789 NW Beach Drive. Hours of operation are 11 am to 5 pm every day until Labor Day, then 11 am to 4 pm every day.
JerriLynn Woolley is a local photographer that loves to capture images of the coast in all its moods. She loves sunrises and sunsets, boats in the bay, bridge, lighthouses and the coast. She is happiest when she can capture what she sees and share it with others. When asked what is her favorite thing to photograph, she would say that it is old boats, cars, barns, etc. She loves to preserve a glimpse of history with her images. And second to that is sunsets and sunrises with each one being unique and unpredictable. She has her work at Saturday Markets in the summer in Newport, shares her photographs with Oregon Coast Magazine, and is in a couple galleries on the coast and on their website, www.oregoncoastphotography.com.
JerriLynn loves to hike and explore new places with her husband, Laren, so they are constantly taking new images to share. She will share with you some of her new images from along the Oregon Coast as well as some from the Southwest where she spent several weeks this past fall and spring. JerriLynn is active in the local Yaquina Art Association, YAA Photographers as well as the Artists Studio Association and Artist’s Co-op Gallery in Lincoln City.
Ann Nicholson is a local artist who has been selling her work at the Newport and Yachats farmers markets for the past sixteen years. Previously, she was known for her baskets, made from local materials, and her colorful, acrylic painted pots. Presently, Ann is selling prints of her watercolor paintings and her unique wire jewelry at the markets and also at the Yaquina Art Gallery as well as other local shops
This show will be a combination of past and recent watercolor original paintings combined with acrylic paintings on canvas. She states, “I love both mediums, although different, because they enable me to express my love of color and shape!”
Josephine Allen has a love of art and it shows in the variety of mediums she works with. She enjoys acrylic painting, china painting, watercolors, clay art, colored pencil, pastels, photography, mixed media, fiber arts, basket weaving, and jewelry making.
Displayed in her pedestal show you will see that she has a joyful love of painting dogs. She will also have small original painted pieces and photography as well as clay art and jewelry.
