Two week spotlight show featuring holiday appropriate artwork
There will be a two week spotlight show featuring holiday appropriate artwork. Sally Morris has recently been in Bethlehem and was inspired by her visit there to come home and do paintings depicting Christmas in Bethlehem. Mary Young does beautiful glass work appropriate for gifts and keepsakes. The show will run from Dec. 13-26th and is at the YAA gallery in Nye Beach at 789 NW Beach Drive. The gallery has gift tables featuring holiday arts and crafts and is open daily from 11-4.
Sally Morris’ show will be called “To Bethlehem and Beyond”. Sally uses many mediums in her artwork including watercolor, oils, pastels, and clay. Since returning home from the Holy Land, Sally has continued to be inspired by what she experienced there and so “To Bethlehem and Beyond” is appropriate for her show title. She has been painting her whole adult life and has taken many classes by wonderful instructors. She has lived on the Oregon coast for the past 11 years.
Mary Young moved here 8 years ago and loves color and glass! She is inspired by nature and animals and things that make her smile or laugh. Mary is the president of the Newport Farmers Market and Treasurer for the Yaquina Art Association. Playing and experimenting with glass and the color combinations make her work creative and unique.
