Two week spotlight show at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery
There will be a two week spotlight show at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery featuring the art of Darlene Bowen, Rosemary Sumner and BJ Trotter. The show will run from Nov. 29 to Dec. 12 and is open daily from 11 am to 4 pm located at the Nye Beach Turnaround in Newport Oregon.
Darlene Bowen has been interested in art her whole life. She came from a family of artists with her grandfather using oil paints, her mother and sister drew and Darlene draws with pencils and loves acrylic paints. The family’s art was self taught. Darlene has lived on the Oregon Coast most of her adult life, moving here at 29. BJ Trotter and Rosemary Sumner are sisters who are originally from Louisiana but now claim Newport on the Oregon coast as their home.
BJ is a member of the Yaquina Art Association Photographers. The sisters are members of the Newport Farmer’s Market and Lincoln County Small Farmers Association where you can find them most Saturdays. BJ’s photography and Rosemary’s paintings are available for purchase in the show as well as tiles and cards which make great gifts. BJ recently returned from Ecuador and Peru (Amazon, Machu Picchu, and Galapagos) which are a photographers paradise. Rosemary has a bachelor’s degree in art and loves to experiment with color, using it in unexpected ways.
