Ginger Raia will be displaying Clay artwork in a two week Artisan Spotlight
Ginger Raia will be displaying Clay artwork in a two week Artisan Spotlight from May 9 – May 22, 2015 in the Yaquina Art Association Gallery in Newport Oregon. The gallery is open from 11 am to 4 pm daily in Nye Beach.
Ginger Raia moved here from Michigan where she raised her family and focused on oil painting. She moved to the Oregon Coast 30 years ago and has enjoyed getting to know an amazing group of excellent artists. She traveled with a touring art group in Michigan where they set up in Malls and painted and sold artwork. Since moving to Lincoln City she has discovered her love for working with clay. She says, “I let my fingers take me to places that make my heart happy. The clay is so friendly, yielding to the slightest pressure. I never try to dictate to these busy fingers what I should choose to concentrate on.” She does masks, busts, wall decoration and statues that lean toward whimsical. Her artwork makes her happy, leaving a big smile on her face. She also enjoys writing poetry.
