Marianne St. Marie is a local artist of the Central Oregon Coast. Marianne works primarily with watercolor, goauche and mixed media on a variety of surfaces. Being very passionate about animals, many of Marianne’s paintings include pets and other living beings. Marianne St. Marie’s natural painting style is relaxed and whimsical. The art is intended to bring a smile to those who see it. Marianne’s work has received a warm reception among local and out of state galleries, fellow artists and patrons. Marianne currently maintains a private studio in Waldport, Oregon where she paints daily. Marianne urges other animal lovers to support your local animal shelter and to consider pet adoption or a reputable breeder to help stamp out puppy mills.
Lila Passarelli has been a member of the YAA since 1977. She began her lessons with Bill Runyan in the pen and ink class added the oil painting a few months later. After a couple years she joined the watercolor class that was taught by Harry Niemela. Lila is specially fond of animals as subjects, although the Oregon lighthouses, seascapes, landscapes, and an occasional flower painting can be found in her studios. Lila will be using Encaustic techniques as well as oils for her artwork. She likes working from photographs people bring her of their animals to paint pet portraits.
