Timothy Benjamin and Patti Johnson featured artists
There will be a two week spotlight featuring artists Timothy Benjamin and Patti Johnson from March 7th through March 20th. The show will be at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery in Nye Beach at 789 NW Beach Drive, Newport. The gallery is open from 11 am to 4 pm daily.
Timothy Benjamin was born in Tulsa Oklahoma. Until first grade, he spent his life in various countries such as London, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Italy and eventually settled in the U.S. Given a time gap between his return to the U.S. and actually having a home, his family lived out of a 1972 Volkswagen Bus and traveled throughout the United States. After high school, he attended the Palomar College in San Diego. He moved to the Oregon Coast in 2011 and has enjoyed it greatly. If you ask Timothy Benjamin who he is, he would say, ” I am a 21st century humorist, portrait maker and illustrator. I have been an artist since before I could write and I have been an illustrator for hire since the early nineties in the media of color pencil, charcoal, pastel and acrylic”. He hopes that his art will make people smile.
Artist Patti Johnson has been painting at the Visual Art Center through the Yaquina Art Association for over 40 years. She will have portraits and flower painting in her show. She enjoys working with oils and acrylics and is known for her flowers and portrait paintings. She facilitates the Tuesday Oil and Acrylic class at the Visual Arts Center at Nye Beach sponsored by the YAA. The classes are open to the public.
