Two week spotlight show featuring the photography of Donna McCoy, JerriLynn Woolley and Artisan Jill Keck
There will be a 2 week spotlight show featuring the photography of Donna McCoy, JerriLynn Woolley and Artisan Jill Keck at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery in Nye Beach. The gallery is located at 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport and is open daily from 11 -4 pm.
Donna McCoy’s spotlight show is titled, “Wrack’d Photography”. Turning her macro lens to the plants, animals and things washed ashore in the wrack line —Donna says, “That line of stuff left by the out going tide is loaded with art!” She hopes that visitors to the gallery will be inspired to walk the wrack line and bring their camera. She also adds, “Oh and bring a trash bag for plastics.” Donna’s photography can also be seen at the Lincoln City Artist’s Co-op as well as at the Wave gallery in Yachats.
JerriLynn Woolley loves being out doors and enjoying nature’s beauty. She is most happy when she can combine her love for nature with sharing it with family and friends through photography. Sunsets and sunrises are her favorite times of the day. Living on the Oregon Coast has opened up many opportunities for her photography. She loves traveling with her husband and they both enjoy taking cameras and tripods on their hikes and explorations. JerriLynn has won many awards and has been published in coastal magazines and calendars. She is a member and does the publicity for the Yaquina Art Association, is print chair for the YAA Photographers and displays her work at the Wind Drift Gallery on the Bay front and in the Lincoln City Artist’s Co-op Gallery.
Jill Keck of Calise Soapworks & Such will be displaying her award winning soap and unique jewelry. Most items are ocean inspired. “I love to create functional art with soap that brings a smile,” says Jill. Her soaps are not only beautiful, but formulated with skin loving ingredients. Her jewelry ranges from whimsical holiday themes to hammered metal with upcycled bottle glass that make great gifts. Jill says, “For me, art is an expression of emotion. I have 2 little girls and I want to pass on my love for creating. I named my business after them (Camille and Elise = Calise Soapworks & Such) and some of their work will be included in her show. I’m excited to have their art displayed along with mine this year!” You can find Jill and her daughter’s work displayed at Calise Soapworks & Such at the Newport Saturday Farmers Market and the Sunday Lincoln City Farmers Market. Jill moved here in 2010 from Arizona. Originally, she is from West Virginia and has also lived in Pennsylvania and Florida. “I am a part of each of my states and I have enjoyed the journey. I can’t wait to see what each day has to offer.”
