Two week Artisan Spotlight featuring the work of Diana Perez-Moya
There will be a two week Artisan Spotlight featuring the work of Diana Perez-Moya at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery in Newport Oregon. The show will run from Aug. 16 – Aug. 29th and is open from 10 am to 5 pm daily.
Diana Perez – Moya grew up in Bogota, Colombia and moved to Oregon in 1999, bringing with her the strong and explosive colors of the tropic. When she was thirteen years old, she discovered her love for color and art while taking Oil classes with the well known Spanish painter Pepe Garcia. She studied different art mediums at the Universidad de los Andes, Fashion Illustration at Casa Fabricato and Fashin Design at Arturo Tejada Cano School in Bogota. Soon after arriving to Newport, she continued her learning path by taking ceramic classes with the ceramic artist Janet Wallace and later drawing classes at Yaquina Art Association before joining the group.
Diana is interested in upcycling and giving old things a new purpose as you will see in her wooden boxes with mirror and pebbles incrustations. Also she will display hand painted jewelry, jewelry boxes, ceramics, hand painted glass and original post cards.
