The Yaquina Art Association will be featuring the wood working of Jack Powell from Oct. 4-18th at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery. The gallery is located at 789 NW Beach Drive next to the ocean in Newport Oregon. The gallery is open daily from 11 am to 4 pm.
Jack Powell loves working with wood which is logical for him since he grew up in the logging town of St. Maries, Idaho. He’s been working with wood since he was young and worked in the saw mill. Later he spent many years working in a cabinet shop. Now he enjoys working with scroll saws and band saws. From puzzles and pictures to 3-dimensional sculptures his works are mostly one of a kind. Jack’s work can be viewed at the Yaquina Arts Association Gallery and from May through October at the Lincoln City Farmers Market.
