Spotlight of YAA Watercolor Class
The Yaquina Art Association Watercolor Class will have a two week spotlight to showcase the talents of the watercolor artists in YAA. The spotlight will run from Jan. 26-Feb. 8, 2013 at 789 NW Beach Drive in the Nye Beach Turnaround in Newport, Oregon. The gallery is open from 11 am to 4 pm daily and features framed as well as unframed artwork, cards, crafts, woodworking, jewelry, and other items available for purchase.
The watercolor class meets on Monday mornings from 9-11 am in the upstairs classroom in the Visual Art Center. The class members that feel confident enough, take turns teaching the class. Artists such as John Bradley, Shirley Steinhauer, Pam Parker, Luella and Ken Hartwell, Ann Nicholson, Bob Beyer, Mike Beyer, Tom Allen, Arlon Gilliland, Charlotte Carter, Georgia Beard, Carol Summers, Jeff Berteleit, Sally Morris, Judy Farr, Judy Wong, Joanne Campbell, and Alona Williams are some of the members that take turns teaching. The weekly teacher tries to choose something that will challenge the class to learn something new each week. Everyone has their own interpretation and way of painting and it is amazing the variety of art that is inspired by the same subject. Guests are welcome.
