YAA Arts and Crafts Sale this weekend in Newport
This weekend the Yaquina Art Association will hold its annual Arts and Crafts Sale fundraiser at Nye Beach located in the Visual Art Center at 777 NW Beach Drive in Newport.
The public is invited to stop by from 11 am to 5 pm today (Friday), Saturday, and Sunday (February 24th-26th) to enjoy art, crafts and food.
YAA members have purchased wall space displaying framed art as well as bins with unframed art for sale.There will be tables filled with craft items as well. Visitors may look at or purchase many kinds of art including watercolor, acrylic, pastel, colored pencil, photography, fiber, clay and glass. There will also be demonstrations throughout the weekend by local artists.
Delicious homemade goodies such as brownies, pies and cookies as well as the traditional hot dogs and chili will be sold upstairs. There will be an opportunity during the sale for children of all ages to participate in melted crayon art. This is a free, hands-on experience guided by one of the associations artists.
This event is a fundraiser for scholarships offered to the community for furthering the education of the arts.
