Plein Air Painting Classes
The Yaquina Art Association is offering a new weekly activity of painting outside at various locations in the area. The schedule for artists to meet for plein air painting will be weekly at 2 pm. All are invited to participate, bringing your own supplies and set up. Artists are free to choose any medium, (acrylics, some drawing, some pastels and watercolors). All locations will be selected for proximity to rest rooms and parking. Artists are asked to bring their own setup, which may include an easel or table and chair or stool, shade if desired, weights if windy, etc. In case of rain, meet at the Don Davis park, gazebo building directly behind the Newport Performing Arts Center. Schedule for June is as follows:
June 10 Seal Rocks parking in the lots next to road with the views
June 17 In front of Yaquina Bay Historic Lighthouse, with views of jetties, ocean, bridge, and lighthouse
June 24 Newport Marina, South Beach, behind the showers, with a view of the bridge and the Coast Guard Station.
