Hunting the Western Wildflower Presentation
Walt Rhea has been pursuing wildflower photography since retiring from Intel. Walt lives in Lee’s Camp, Oregon and has photographed flowers from Death Valley, California up to the Yukon. The title of his presentation is “Hunting the Fast Moving Western Wildflower”. Walt will share with the Yaquina Art Association Photographers on Monday, March 7, 2016 in the upstairs classroom of the Visual Arts Center in Newport Oregon at 7:00 pm. Walt will present to the group a few example photos, an equipment list, botany references, a website and book references. Walt has a great joy and enthusiasm for hunting out the fast moving and often elusive Western Wildflower that he is excited to share with the group. The public is invited to attend that presentation.
Future presentations that are open to the public include April 4th at 7 pm on ” Going to the Next Step”. Often photographers have taken the image but want to know tips for taking that image to the next level. Carl Baker will share his expertise on the computer with software programs that will help you improve your photographs.
On May 2, 2016 at 7 pm those interested can attend the judging of the electronic image division of the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs quarterly competition. Photographers from California, Oregon, Washington and Idaho will compete for Awards with beautiful images in both a traditional format and a creative format.
On May 16, 2016 the Yaquina Art Association Photographers will meet at 6:30 pm at Lazer Quick to learn about printing photographs. The meeting will continue afterwards in the upstairs classroom of the VAC to discuss printing and different printers that our photographers are using and the pros and cons of each.
