YAA offers Free Watercolor Class
Instructor Catherine Hingson will present a watercolor class that is open to the public at no cost. The class will be held on September 21, 2015 from 9 am to 11 am in the 2nd floor classroom at the Visual Art Center in Newport Oregon. Catherine Hingson will share techniques she learned from taking an Eric Wiegardt class demonstrating how to create an area of dominance, color theory and watercolor techniques for creating bold vibrant paintings. Catherine Hingson has been painting for 25 years and has been doing watercolors the past 5 years. Catherine asks that you bring your own watercolor supplies, reference photos, a sketchpad and pencil. Students are welcome to come early to set up. No registration is required for this class.
Hingson will also be offering other classes in the county. A Playful Paintbrush Watercolor Class will be offered on October 27, 2015 from 10-3 in the Artist’s Studio Association at 620 NW Hwy 101 in Lincoln City located at the back of the Artists Co-op Gallery. The class will be $25 and the teacher will provide a list of suggested supplies to registered students. This class will focus on creating an area of dominance, color theory, and techniques in painting bold, free and easy watercolors. The workshop will be a combination of information and demonstration given by Catherine Hingson as well as student created paintings. She will be teaching a Playful Paintbrush Watermedia 10 week course at the Oregon Coast Community College in Lincoln City, Mondays from 2-5 pm starting Sept. 28 through December 7, 2015.
