Opening Reception at 13th Annual YAA Juried Art Show
Friday, Oct. 3 from 5 to 7 pm there will be an opening reception for the 13th Annual Yaquina Art Association Juried Art Show at the YAA gallery located at 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport, Oregon in the Nye Beach Turnaround. Refreshments will be served and a chance to meet many of the artists that submitted artwork into the show. There will also be a presentation of awards decided by Juror, Bill Cary. The awards include first place $700, $500 for second place, $200 for third place and a Mayors Choice Award of $100. The public will have a chance to vote on the People’s Choice award which will be presented at the end of the show. Juror Bill Cary had a hard time deciding on his top three with over 164 wall art pieces submitted as well as the pedestal art. There will be approximately 100 of the best art submitted at the upcoming show. There were entires from around the state including Kaiser, Or and down to North Bend, Oregon. The public will be able to view watercolor, photography, oils, pastels, clay assemblage, glass, fiber, and pencil art. The show will be open daily for the rest of the month from 11am-4 pm. There will also be prints and other gift items available for purchase.
