Preparing your Photographs

The Yaquina Art Association Photographers will feature presentations from two award winning photographers, Vern Bartley and Michael Anderson presenting ways to take your photographs to the next level on Monday May 5th starting at 7pm. The class is free to the public and will be held in the upstairs classroom of the Newport Visual Art Center, located at 777 NW Beach Drive.
Vern Bartley will demonstrate the secrets to Stretching Your Own Canvas Prints, at Home. A technique he uses in his everyday production of his award winning Canvas Gallery Wrap fine art images. At the meeting Bartley will discuss and demonstrate how easy it is to stretch your own canvas prints with the new Easy Wrappe canvas stretching system. Vern will demonstrate how to do a professional job of stretching canvas art utilizing only a Easy Wrappe set of stretcher bars, a razor knife, a ruler and a small tack hammer.
Bartley is a professional Master Photographer living in beautiful Newport, Oregon. He shows and sells his fine art photography in several galleries in Oregon and Arizona. He is a member of the YAAP, YAA, Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and the Oregon Professional Photographers Association (OPPA), Bartley was honored as the Landscape Photographer of the Year by the Portland Metropolitan Photographers Association in 2013 and is recognized and sought after for his educational programs specific to teaching photographers and photographic organizations the skills and techniques of professional Judging, Coaching and Critiquing in the competitive photographic arena.
Michael Anderson will present ways to take your photographs from digital or negatives to presenting them in a high quality way, mounted on Perfect Mount. He will demonstrate key lines to set your picture apart and then continue on to framing your image. Michael Anderson with Artistic Photo Expressions is a member of the YAAP, YAA, and Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Mr. Anderson has received fifteen local and regional awards and three international awards. Two of his fine art pieces were selected for the prestigious PPA International Loan Collection and eight of his fine art photographs were featured in the PMPA 2012 Awards publication. Several of his works of art have also been selected as featured art pieces for art shows in multiple galleries in Oregon. Mr. Anderson is also a member of The Gresham Art Committee which holds art shows and manages the The Gresham Visual Arts Gallery in Gresham, Oregon.
