Yaquina Art Association Photographers featured in the Runyan Gallery in April
“Photography on the Oregon Coast” is the theme this year for the Yaquina Art Association Photographers featured in the Runyan Gallery in April. Approximately 20 photographers will be featured at the Visual Art Center in Newport Oregon showing framed photography as well as photography on canvas and aluminum. The show opens on April 1st and runs through May 1st at the Runyan Gallery located at 777 NW Beach Drive in Nye Beach. Artwork will be available to view or purchase off the wall from 11 am to 5 pm daily except Mondays. The public is invited to participate in the people’s choice award presented at the end of the month. There will be an opening reception with refreshments on April 1, 2015 from 5-6:30 pm in the Runyan Gallery with a chance to meet local photographers.
The photographers are members of the Yaquina Art Association Photography group that meets first and third Mondays in the upstairs classroom at the VAC in Newport at 7 pm. The group emphasizes programs and improving our photography skills through programs, critique and competition. The group enters digital and print competitions monthly to the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs where over 27 camera clubs enter photographs for awards. The 4C’s has groups from Idaho, California, Washington and Oregon.
Programs presented have included noted photographers sharing presentations on wild flowers, birds, beginning photography work flow, light painting, and tips on post processing, framing and matting. Each year the group participates in field trips around the area. The group invites members of the community that are interested in joining the group to come to any of the meetings.
