Photographers will be featured at the Visual Art Center in Newport Oregon for the month of March

Almost 20 photographers will be featured at the Visual Art Center in Newport Oregon for the month of March. The show opens on March 3 and runs through March 29th at the Runyan Gallery located in Nye Beach. Each artist was invited to submit up to 5 pieces to be shown. Artwork will be available to view or purchase off the wall from 11 am to 5 pm daily except Mondays. The public is invited to participate in the people’s choice award as well. There will be an opening reception on March 6, 2015 from 5-7pm in the Runyan Gallery.

The photographers are members of the Yaquina Art Association Photography group that meets first and third Mondays in the upstairs classroom at the VAC in Newport at 7 pm. The group emphasizes programs and improving our photography skills through programs, critique and competition. The group enters digital and print competitions monthly to the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs where over 27 camera clubs enter photographs for awards. The 4C’s has groups from Idaho, California, Washington and Oregon.

Programs presented have included noted photographers sharing presentations on water photography, night photography, cell phone photography, light painting, tips on post processing, framing and matting, field trips, etc. The group invites members of the community that are interested in joining the group to join in any of the meetings.
