Artisan spotlight, Elizabeth Atly’s art work on pedestals
The Yaquina Art Association Gallery will spotlight Artisan, Elizabeth Atly’s art work on pedestals. Elizabeth will show glass work that she does as well as other forms of art that she enjoys. Her work will be for sale at the gallery located on 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport, Oregon located just west of the yellow Visual Art Center. The hours of the gallery are 11 am to 4 pm daily.
Elizabeth Atly’s art work encompasses a variety of media: photography, videography, jewelry, and fused glass which often includes sandblasted glass and/or tile. She has worked with glass in a variety of forms — stained, sand-blasted, and blown, before finding her medium in fused glass. Her one-of-a-kind fused glass dishes and her jewelry have been exhibited in Seattle at Frank Fremont Gallery since August 2011 (now online at frankanddunya.com/ artists/elizabeth-atly/) and more recently, at Avalon Glassworks in West Seattle.
Atly earned her Master of Architecture degree at the University of Washington in 1981, and has enjoyed a 30+year career as a residential remodel designer in Portland and Newport, Oregon, prior to engaging more fully as a multi-media artist. Although she has always embraced photography as an art form, and has shown sporadically over the years, Atly only began seriously exhibiting her photographs, in Oregon Coast galleries, in 2007. Elizabeths photographs, fused glass, refurniture and jewelry have been exhibited in the following Oregon Coast venues: Nye Beach Gallery, CanyonWay Books, Sylvia Beach Hotel, For ArtSake Gallery, Teak and More, Halcyon Gallery, Runyan Gallery, Cannon Beach Art Center, the Yaquina Art Association Gallery and the Chessman Gallery in the Lincoln City Cultural Center. She is also an award-winning video producer.
