Yaquina Art Gallery Pedestal Spotlight Show featuring the artwork of Diana Perez – June 2nd to June 14th
In a two week Pedestal Spotlight Show from June 2nd to June 14th, the Yaquina Art Association will be featuring the artwork of Diana Perez. The Yaquina Art Association Gallery is located in Nye Beach at 789 NW Beach Drive. Hours of operation are 11 am to 5 pm every day.
Diana Pérez- Moya grew up in Bogotá, Colombia and moved to Oregon in 1999 bringing with her the shine of tropical colors.
When she was 13 she discovered her love for color and art while taking oil classes with the well-known Spanish painter Pepe Garcia. She studied different art mediums at the Universidad de los Andes, Casa Fabricato, and Arturo Tejada Cano School in Bogotá.
Soon after arriving in Newport she took ceramic classes with ceramic artist Janet Wallace and drawing classes at YAA.
She is interested in up cycling and giving old things a new purpose by mixing nature findings with man-made objects as you can see in her collages, wind chimes and oyster painted shells and conks. You will find classic and fun, colorful jewelry, jewelry boxes, hand painted glass, pyrography, wire trees, mirrors and original postcards.
