Yaquina Art Gallery Pedestal Spotlight Show featuring the artwork of Catherine Hingson – October 20th to November 2nd
The artwork of Catherine Hingson will be featured in the Nye Beach Gallery operated by members of the Yaquina Art Association. She will be showing and making available for sale a collection of smaller art pieces than her usual large works. The spotlight pedestal show will run for two weeks, Sat Oct 20th thru Fri Nov 2nd 789 N.W. Beach Dr. in Newport open 11am – 4pm daily, free admission.
Hingson has been a member of Yaquina Art Association for almost 5 years. She is also showing her art at the Pacific Artists’ Co-op Gallery in Lincoln City, and the Beachstone Gallery in Lincoln City. As a member of the Lincoln City Cultural Center, she participates in some of their shows in the Chessman Gallery and with their Art on the Edge Studio Tour.
As a teacher and workshop instructor Hingson enjoys a free and easy style of painting that is appealing to all levels. Her next workshop, called Colorful Trees, is Oct 27th at the Artists’ Studio Association, go to asaart.net/classes to register. As a teacher she encourages her students to “Play! Let go of judgements about our work as we explore the medium, and enjoy the process.”
Catherine Hingson is a professional artist focusing on impressionistic landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, a place she has called home most of her life. She has a sensual nature of art depicting life through a combination of color, texture, and symbolism in her paintings. As a multi-media artist, Hingson has been known for her vivid and bold use of color in her impressionistic marine related scenes.
