2 week Artisan Spotlight by Ginger Raia
Gyrotoku fish paintings will take the spotlight in a 2 week Artisan Spotlight by Ginger Raia at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery in Nye Beach. The show will be from Aug. 27th to Sept. 9th. The gallery is located at 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport and will be open from 11 am to 4 pm daily.
Ginger says, “This year I have focused on what thrills me when I work on them. Turns out comical characters doing things. I fall in love as each little personality emerges. I try to include a tea pot or two each year. This year I made the T-Pot and a mermaid lid…Always with a lot of attitude.”
Ginger worked in oils for years then she started working in clay and she can’t stop. She will have a few Gyrotoku fish paintings as well as her clay pieces. Ginger said,
“There will be many items that are not mermaids for those who do not believe..wink wink.” Stop by the gallery and you may have the opportunity to meet Ginger who will spend a lot of time down at the gallery during this spotlight show. And look around at the wonderful arts and crafts in the gallery made by all local artists from the Yaquina Art Association.
