Photographers take the spotlight
Laren Woolley and Donna McCoy will be presenting their photography at the YAA gallery from Aug. 8- Aug. 21, 2015 in a two week spotlight show. The gallery is open daily from 11-5 pm at 789 NW Beach Drive in the Nye Beach Turnaround.
Laren Woolley has been doing photography for over 13 years now. Working full time means Laren has to plan trips out for his photography and being a Planner by profession, that is what he does. For Laren, planning the trip is half the fun. And when he captures an area he has read about, studied maps of and seen photos of, he is always trying to get it in a different way than how it has been done before. Laren loves hiking and camping and those go right along with his passion for photography. Laren will be displaying some photography on canvas and on metal, as well as framed and unframed photographs. Laren recently returned from a trip to thevGrand Teton National Park and has enjoyed “shooting” in Wyoming, Washington, Utah, Northern California, Montana, Idaho and of course, Oregon. Laren is counting down til he can do photography full time with his wife, JerriLynn.
Once again, Donna McCoy has turned her camera lens to focus on close-up marine life. Whether sea slugs or jellyfish, sea stars or shells, Donna enjoys finding, photographing and sharing small works of art she finds along the Oregon coast.
This spring, while By-the-wind-sailor jellies were washing up on shore, Donna photographed several floating on the surface of a tidal pool. The jellies were mixed in with bubbles and tube worm casing, helping to create an abstract work of art which she titled “Stellar Jellies”.
Please stop by the gallery to see other marine life Donna has been finding and photographing.
