YAAP features guest speaker on HDR
The Yaquina Art Association Photographers will feature award winning photographer and guest speaker, Mark Fitzgerald on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 7:00 pm. Mark Fitzgerald will demonstrate High Dynamic Range (HDR) post processing techniques he uses in his photography. The class is free to the public and will be held in the upstairs classroom of the Visual Art Center in the Nye Beach Turnaround in Newport, Oregon.
Mark Fitzgerald is one of those fine art photographers who uses HDR to create his award winning images. At the meeting Mark will discuss HDR and explain the process. Then Mark will demonstrate methods he uses to create his award winning images. If you’ve been wanting to learn about HDR and see what the process looks like, this is your opportunity.
Mark Fitzgerald is a teacher and author living in Portland Oregon. His newest book, Zen of Post-Production, was officially released last month. Mark is President of the Portland Metropolitan Photographers Association, PMPA photographer of the year 2011, 2012, and on the National Council of Professional Photographers of America. Fitzgerald is an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop CS6.
(optional) “High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography is a process of combining multiple exposures to record the entire range of tones. Photographers shoot a series of exposures of a scene and then use programs like Photomatix Pro and HDR Effect Pro to process the images. HDR is popular with commercial photographers, such as architectural photographers, who use HDR to help them create realistic images of buildings to record the scene much the way our eyes would. Fine art photographers use the HDR process to push textures and colors in creative directions to create images that are different than a standard
exposure.
