2 week spotlight show featuring glass and photography of Marsha Christian and Elizabeth Atly
There will be a 2 week spotlight show featuring glass and photography of Marsha Christian and Elizabeth Atly at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery in Nye Beach. The show runs from Feb. 22 through March 7, 2014. The gallery is open from 11 am to 4 pm daily at 789 NW Beach Drive, Newport.
Marsha Christian began doing stained glass 25 years ago. She is self taught. She got into this with her son so they could spend quality time together. She likes making angels as well as geometric type work, mermaids, butterflies, etc. She sells large pieces as well as smaller items. Some of her art work is influenced by her time living on Okinawa and in Europe. She enjoys traveling with her husband. They seek out churches with stained glass windows.
Marsha does copper fill then it is leaded together. She pulls glass from all over. She loves antique and discontinued glass so she can make one of a kind artwork. Marsha does custom work and gives lessons. Her phone number is 541-961-6590.
Elizabeth Atly will be showing photography and some glass in her two week spotlight show. She has traveled to many countries including Greece, Venzuala, Tanzania, Cuba and Ecuador. She will be showing photographs from some of these countries as well as some of her coastal photography. Atly earned her Master of Architecture degree at the University of Washington in 1981. After a 30+ year career as a residential remodel designer in Portland and Newport, Oregon, Atly began exhibiting her work in Oregon Coast galleries in 2007.
Elizabeth’s photographs, fused glass, “refurniture” and jewelry have been exhibited in many galleries and local establishments in the area. She is enthusiastic about everything she ventures into.
