Spotlight to honor Gold Award Winner, John Bradley
John Bradley and Jeff Bertulieit will be the featured artists on the center walls of the Yaquina Art Association Gallery located at 789 NW Beach Drive in Nye Beach, Newport, Oregon. At the Fall 2012 Convention for the Watercolor Society of Oregon, John Bradley was awarded the Gold Award, one of the highest awards you can receive in the Watercolor Society of Oregon.The gallery is open from 11 am to 4 pm daily and the show runs from April 20-May 3, 2013.
This Gold Merit Award presented to John Bradley is given to those who have won numerous awards in the semi annual conventions where often over 300 entries are paired down to 80 paintings chosen for each show, juried by nationally recognized artists, and then published in a 28 page color Exhibition Catalog, To receive a Gold Award you must accumulate over 20 points. This achievement was one John Bradley had dreamed of achieving during his lifetime and this means a lot to him. John has been painting for more than 22 years now and he has taken as well as taught many classes in the county for Yaquina Art Association and 4C’s in Lincoln City. Bradley has taken art classes at Berkely College of Arts and Crafts, Sculpture Classes at Lane Community College, Intensive Watercolor Studio classes in Taos, New Mexico and Diablo Junior College in Concord, California. Jeff Bertuleit enjoys both watercolor and oil painting. He has been painting for the past 20 years and has enjoyed combining travels to Europe and Hawaii with his art. He also enjoys painting ocean scenes plein air. Bertuleit is a member of the Yaquina Art Association and has served as president of the group in the past.
