Paula Cline-Jones will be the Artisan Spotlight April 6-26th
Paula Cline-Jones will be the Artisan Spotlight featured in a three week show at the Yaquina Art Association. Her show will run from April 6-26th at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery located at 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport Oregon. The gallery is open daily from 11 am to 4 pm.
Paula will be displaying glass art in a few different forms. The largest pieces in this show are her lamps featuring one popular design reproduction called “Waterlily” with a few smaller decorative pieces in the show. Paula has found that art heals. When she is doing her art she becomes completely absorbed and absolutely engaged. To her, it is a form of meditation, whether she is in the design stage, selecting and gathering glass for the project or scoring and shaping to fine precision one tiny piece of glass, she is in bliss.
Paula Cline-Jones was invited by a friend to attend a beginning stained glass class over 30 years ago and she has never looked back. In her travels, she found that the cathedrals of Seville and Cordoba validate her preference for bright colors. She prefers working with cold glass, as opposed to warm glass. She states that “it is slow and teaches patience”. That patience has blessed her life.
Paula was born in Grants Pass, Oregon but has lived in Seal Rock with her husband for the past 20 years. She loves gardening, literature, music, pets, walking. She believes in giving back to the community and is a volunteer at the Lincoln County Animal Shelter. She has worked for the last two years with Discover your Northwest, a non-profit partner of the Siuslaw National Forest.
