Shelley Roenspie and Colored Pencil Artists Featured at YAA Gallery

YAA Spotlight

The Yaquina Art Association Gallery will feature the art of Shelley Roenspie, and  from the YAA Colored Pencil Class.  Their artwork will be available for purchase and viewing from Jan. 12-Jan. 25, 2013 and the gallery is open between 11 am and 4 pm daily.  The gallery is located at 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport Oregon next to the Visual Art Center.

Since the summer of 2012, Shelley Roenspie calls Newport, Oregon her home. With great enjoyment, she paints the neighboring landmarks with her exclusive Expressionism Style.  At this time, she has painted the “Yaquina Head Light House”, the “Sylvia Beach Hotel”, as well as, numerous scenes from the Nye Beach area.

As a young person, art was Shelley’s heightened passion, studying at Sierra College in Rocklin, California and Community Arts College in Media, Pennsylvania located in striking “Brandwine Country” the home of Andrew Wyeth. This East Coast influence permits Shelley to create her “style and authorization” infused with her emotions, onto the canvas, in the appearance of passionate vivid colors, thus, generating an “out of the ordinary” vision of the truth.

Paris, France persists to instill an upbeat influence in her style, along with the Dutch Country Side from her travels to Europe. Shelley appreciates the elation in identifying with the connotations revealed by the Impressionists. Along with her passion for painting, Shelley has spent numerous years involved with her other enthusiasm of “Showjumpers” and the Horse Show Scene on the West Coast.

Just prior to moving to Newport, Shelley lived near Sacramento, California where her art was put “on show” at the Noel Flynn, Sacramento Fine Arts, J 27, and the Blue Moon Galleries. Since moving to Newport, Shelley is a “Joined” member of the Yaquina Arts Gallery and her paintings are on exhibit, in both, the Yaquina Arts Gallery and the Forinash Art Gallery, in the “Roenspie Corner”, situated on Bay Boulevard, in picturesque Old Town Newport.
