YAA Spotlight Artists John Bradley and JerriLynn Woolley December 3rd to December 16th, 2011
The Yaquina Art Association will spotlight John Bradley and JerriLynn Woolley at the YAA gallery located at 789 NW Beach Drive in the Nye Beach Turnaround from December 3rd to December 16th. The gallery is open daily from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The gallery also has a Christmas section of arts, jewelry and crafts for sale through the holiday.
John Bradley is 90 years young and still increasing his watercolor skills as he continues to take numerous watercolor workshops from nationally known teachers. He was told, “If you want to improve your painting, you should teach classes!” And that is what John does. He still teaches classes in the community and his students love him. He has taken classes at Oakland College of Arts and Crafts, classes in Taos, New Mexico, Diablo Junior College in Concord, California learning oriental brush painting, taken sculpture classes at Lane Community College and is an international award winner in photography. He is a member of the Yaquina Art Association, the 4C’s in Lincoln City and the Yachats Art Guild. He has won awards and exhibited at the Florence Event Center, Frames of Florence, the Tillamook Fair, YAA, Oregon Watercolor Society, Coos Bay Gallery, and Lincoln County Fair where he won Best of Class and People’s Choice Awards.
JerriLynn Woolley has a great passion for photography and has grown in her abilities to take beautiful photographs. She loves being out in the early mornings or at sunset capturing those golden moments. The Oregon coast is her favorite subject but she recently returned from a 10 day photo shoot to Southern Utah and Arizona where she and her husband hiked over 50 miles in red rock country to get some great shots. She loves taking high school senior, family and children’s portraits as well. She continues to improve her knowledge of cameras and photography by taking workshops and increasing her skills in the “digital darkroom”.
JerriLynn Woolley has won awards in the monthly and end of the year Columbia Council of Camera Clubs, Celebrate Art in Florence Oregon, and People’s Choice Award at the 2011 Spotlight Lincoln County. She has been published in the Oregon Coast Magazine and Calendar 2010, 2011, and 2012, Northwest Travel Calendar 2011, Central Oregon Coast Calendar, Oregon Coast Passport, and Discover Lincoln City.
JerriLynn is the publicity chair for the Yaquina Art Association, print chair for the Yaquina Art Association Photographers and bookkeeper for the Pacific Artist Alliance Co-op Gallery. Her photography can also be seen at the Wind Drift Gallery, the Kelp Forest Gallery, Sizzler and Pig and Pancake in Newport and the Co-op Pacific Artist Alliance Gallery in Lincoln City.
