Artist Spotlight Show
Artists Diana Perez-Moya and Sally Morris will be featured artists in a 2 week spotlight show in the Yaquina Art Association Gallery in Nye Beach. The show is open now through May 27th from 11 am to 4 pm daily at 789 NW Beach Drive in Newport.
Diana Perez – Moya will be showing artwork including oils, acrylics, glossies and collages. She is interested in upcycling and giving old things a new purpose. She enjoys painting on oyster shells and creating collages. Diana grew up in Bogota, Colombia and moved to Oregon in 1999, bringing with her the strong and explosive colors of the tropic. When she was thirteen years old, she discovered her love for color and art while taking Oil classes with the well-known Spanish painter Pepe Garcia.
Soon after arriving to Newport, she continued her learning path by taking ceramic classes with the ceramic artist Janet Wallace and took some drawing classes at Yaquina Art Association before joining the group. She studied different art mediums at the Universidad de los Andes, Fashion Illustration at Casa Fabricato and Fashion Design at Arturo Tejada Cano School in Bogota.
Sally Morris has been painting throughout her adult life and has taken many classes by wonderful instructors. She has lived on the Oregon coast for the past 12 years. She enjoys travel and is inspired by what she sees.
