Two week spotlight show on artisan Ginger Raia
There will be a two week spotlight show on artisan Ginger Raia at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery from April 12-25, 2014. The gallery is located at 789 NW Beach Dr in the Nye Beach Turnaround in Newport, Oregon. The gallery is open from 11 am to 4 pm daily.
Ginger has been been working in clay for about 20 years. She has painted for about 40 years. She enjoyed traveled with a touring art group for two of those years where they set up in malls and painted while showing art work. She spent thirteen years making jewelry which she marketed in San Francisco at the Paris Connection while still doing her other art. She loves working with many different materials. She says, “.All of my work is done in and with joy and celebration of life. Many of these pieces are humorous and fun.”
She has a strong philosophy that learning never stops. She continues to attend many workshops at Sitka. She finds art in every form, enjoyable…and is once again showing her work to the public after semi retiring from having her work in other art galleries. Ginger was born in Corvallis and now resides in Lincoln City. She has lived from one coast to the other as well as in Hawaii. Her hobbies include painting, sculpting, writing and people studies. She finds peace and joy in her art. She has enjoyed traveling and says Thailand was her favorite vacation place with its beauty in their temples and everywhere she looks. She has traveled a great deal helping as a psychic in working on homicides, burglaries, and missing persons cases.
