Two week spotlight show featuring the art of Janice Kobow and Barbara Mitchesan
There will be a two week spotlight show featuring the art of Janice Kobow and Barbara Mitchesan at the Yaquina Art Association gallery in Newport. The show will run from March 22 through April 4, 2014 with the gallery open from 11 am to 4 pm daily and is located at 789 NW Beach Dr. in the Nye Beach Turnaround.
Janice Kobow calls her work impressionistic realism. She likes to paint real objects that speak to her mood and can convey a feeling to the viewer. She is a member of YAA and has been enjoying and learning from them since 2001. She enjoys watercolors. She studied fine art at the University of South Dakota. Janice is married to a log truck driver and loves spending time out in nature and enjoying her family and friends. She will be working at the gallery during her two week show on Sunday, March 23 and would love to meet people who enjoy art.
Barbara Mitchesan is also an artist at Yaquina Art Association. The primary purpose of YAA is to teach and further the pursuit and appreciation of the visual arts and crafts in every possible way and to exhibit and provide an outlet for the benefit of the association and membership, as well as the community and not for the benefit of any individual. The gallery has many framed and unframed works of art as well as crafts, cards, and small items appropriate for gifts.
