YAA Spotlights Patti Johnson and JerriLynn Woolley

There will be a two week spotlight show at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery featuring the art of Patti Johnson and JerriLynn Woolley. The gallery is located in historic Nye Beach, Newport, Oregon at 789 NW Beach Drive. The show will run from Sept. 7th to Sept. to Sept. 20 and is open from 11-4 pm daily, seven days a week.

Patti Johnson

Patti Johnson has been painting for over 40 years and is now facilitating at the Yaquina Art Association classes at the Visual Art Center at Nye Beach. She teaches the oil and acrylic class and the Pencil class. Patti was raised on the east coast, moved here in 1976 .She does portraits in oils and paints anything else she considers beautiful.She was taught by her parents,and has taken many workshops and college courses to keep improving.

Patti Johnson says, China painting is another love I have,thanks to the Y.A.A teacher Carmen Dean”. Some china painted items will be on display at Pattis show starting September 7th .

JerriLynn Woolley

For JerriLynn Woolley, there is a feeling of wanting to be out in nature and if she can capture that feeling through her photography, she feels she has accomplished something. She wants her pictures to help bring a connection to the viewer of a time when they were at the Oregon Coast. JerriLynn loves to be out in the early mornings or evenings around sunset time trying to capture the magnificent feelings that come from being out in nature. When someone purchases one of her photographs, it is a compliment that they felt a connection to her photography. JerriLynn and her husband traveled to the Grand Tetons in Wyoming this summer and she will have some photographs of that area for sale as well as of the Oregon Coast.

JerriLynn Woolley has been running the Oregon Coast Photography business that she and her husband do, for the past 9 years and taking photographs for the past 7 years. She enjoys being around people and is a natural for presenting her photography in co-op galleries, Saturday Market in Newport and taking portraits. JerriLynn has won numerous awards in the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs, Celebrate Art 2008, Peoples Choice Award for 2011 YAA Juried Art Show and 2012 YAA Photographers Show. Two of her photographs were chosen to be in the one year Juried Art Show at the new Maritime Museum on the Newport Bay Front. She has been published in the Oregon Coast Magazine Calendar in 2010 thru 2013 as well as in local magazines. She is the publicity chair for the Yaquina Art Association, Print Chair for the YAA Photograhers and bookkeeper and co currator for the Pacific Artist Alliance Co-op Gallery in Lincoln City.
